When it becomes necessary to remove all your teeth, a cosmetic denture prosthetic can be the right solution. Here at Capital Dental Design, we offer two options.
The first is the traditional option: The dentures fit into your mouth and are removable.
The second option is implant-supported dentures, in which each arch of the prosthetic teeth is supported by two, four, or eight dental implant posts. Implant-supported dentures do not come out (or fly out).
Whichever option you choose, we work with a top lab to make sure you get the best dentures for your needs.
The cost of cosmetic dentures
Most patients choose traditional, removable dentures because they’re a cost-effective way to replace missing teeth if more than a single tooth is missing. But the dollar amount varies widely, depending on how many (if any) dental implants you have already. Your dental insurance may cover some of those costs.
Implant-supported dentures, though not cheap, still are more cost-effective than replacing each missing tooth with an individual dental implant.
Will my dentures hurt?
If your dentures fit correctly, you shouldn’t experience much long-term pain. Also, our use of 3D imaging technology maps out your mouth to ensure a proper fit. Still, you may experience some soreness in the gum area, especially in the early days of wearing your dentures.
Most of the pain comes from the aftermath of tooth extraction. You can wear dentures right after extraction, but they won’t fit their best until the gums heal. We’ll bring you in for a follow-up appointment, so we can adjust your dentures to offer the best fit once you’ve healed enough.
Will my dentures move when I talk or eat?
We design dentures to offer outstanding stability, allowing you to eat, talk, and smile with confidence. You can rest easy when you get your dentures from Capital Dental Design.
Of course, please let us know if you ever have concerns about the fit of your dentures, or have questions about how to keep your dentures from slipping.
Will people be able to tell I’m wearing dentures?
We make sure your dentures are both lifelike and beautiful. Though we can’t guarantee nobody will ever guess you’re wearing cosmetic dentures, we’ll do everything in our power to make sure your dentures make you look and feel your best.
